The Salifert phosphate test kit is a correct method of detecting phosphate in marine, freshwater and garden pond water within less than 5 seconds. Excessive phosphate may drastically retard the growth of coral and calcareous algae and it is important to keep the level low. The kit has two testing ranges of phosphate-phosphor: 0.01-1mg/L (low) and 0.02-2mg/L (medium) and is flexible to suit the various aquarium settings. It can be long-term monitored with adequate reagents to have the phosphate under control. This Salifert profi-test in combination with marine supplements assists in the enhancement of the healthy aquatic environment by controlling the amount of phosphates coming in. - With the help of the syringe, add 10 ml of water sample to the test vial.
- Add 4 drops of PO4-1 reagent, and swirl the vial over a period of 10 seconds.
- Add 1 scoop of PO4-2 reagent and swirl gently after adding 30 seconds.
- Put the open test vial on the white section of the color chart.
- Compare the color of above and read the phosphate concentration in phosphates.
